Fancy Pants Chef Steak Night is a weekly pop-up series that will feature a different Houston chef doing his own version of steak night every Monday through June 28 at the bar. Priced at $20 a plate and available beginning at 6 p.m. until sold out, this is a steak night with a heart: proceeds will go to Southern Smoke Foundation’s new mental health initiative to provide mental healthcare to food and beverage industry workers and their children.
Nick Fine, chef at One Fifth and the upcoming Wild Oats at the Houston Farmers Market, kicked off the series on May 17. The next steak night chefs are:
May 24: Matthew Coburn, who will be running the new Georgia James Tavern
May 31: Greg Peters, executive chef of Georgia James and Hay Merchant
June 7: Graham Laborde, formerly of Bernadine’s and Killen’s restaurants
June 14: Chase Volez, chef de cuisine at Bludorn
June 21: Tony Luhrman, chef/owner of El Topo
June 28: Lucas McKinney, sous chef at Hay Merchant
