You knew this was inevitable. We’re thrilled to introduce Decanted, the new wine-focused event from SSF that will take place for the first time this spring (April 20). If Southern Smoke Festival is where we flock to eat well and do good—and what prolific do-gooders we all have been—then Decanted is its natural pairing: your destination to drink well and do good. A way to pour something back into the F&B industry we know and love, with proceeds benefiting Southern Smoke Foundation.

High-spirited and lavishly fun, Decanted unites wine lovers with vintners from around the world, featuring more than 40 specially chosen wineries notable for their passion, excellence, and general delightfulness as people. After a vintners’ tasting reception, guests will make their winely way to a seated live auction, where tables will enjoy gourmet bites and individually guided pours from their selected winery. The more the merrier—show off your somm skills and bring your own bottles to share! Put your vintners and tablemates to the test. You’ll choose the vintner you’re seated with when you purchase your table.

We hope you’ll join us to raise awareness, raise resources, and raise your glass for a great reason: to help us take care of our own. This one’s not to be missed.

What is the attire for the event?

Saturday afternoon chic.

Can I bring my own wine?

Yes! We encourage you to bring special bottles from your cellar to share with your table.

Is parking available?

We STRONGLY encourage rideshare for this event, but valet will be available.

Is this a private event?

Yes. Tickets will not be sold the day of the event. 21+ only.

Will food be served?

Yes, small bites will be provided by some of Houston’s most exciting chefs.

How many wines can I taste?

Is this a question, or a challenge? With more than 40 vintners on hand, you will have the opportunity to taste at least 80 different wines during the Grand Tasting and even more during the Live Auction. In all seriousness, we encourage everyone to drink responsibly.

What time does the event start and end?

Grand Cru ticket holder entry begins at 1pm, and Premier Cru entry starts at 1:30. The Grand Tasting lasts until 3pm and the Live Auction is from 3-5pm.

Can I participate if I don’t buy a ticket?

Yes! You can bid on anything in the silent auction without buying a ticket. You must be present to participate in the live auction.

I bought a ticket, but can’t come. What can I do?

You can transfer your ticket to someone else, or donate the ticket price to Southern Smoke Foundation.

When and where do I pick up my winning live and silent auction lots?

All auction items may be picked up at the Southern Smoke Foundation office, located at 2500 Summer Street, Suite 3113, Houston, TX 77007. We will reach out after both auctions have closed with pickup instructions. Payment must be completed prior to pickup.
