Support Food + Beverage Workers Affected by the Texas Hill Country Floods

Our hearts are with everyone in the Texas Hill Country.

Southern Smoke provides financial relief during the recovery phase of disasters. We’ve committed $150,000 to support affected F+B workers and are prepared to do more. Sysco will match up to $15,000 in donations to amplify our impact.

The Hill Country Relief Fund application will open August 15. For urgent needs like medical or funeral expenses, F+B workers can apply now through our existing relief fund. Our Behind You program also offers no cost counseling to F+B workers.

WHERE WILL I BE COOKING:

Sonoma Wine & Cheese began as a dream—a vision Farrah brought to life with determination and courage. At just 28 years old, she opened her first wine bar on Richmond Avenue, borrowing money from her mom to pay for the first wine deliveries. Eighteen years later, Sonoma has grown into multiple locations, but the core mission remains the same: to feature boutique wines from small, family-owned wineries across the globe.

When asked about the name Sonoma, Farrah explained:
“In Sonoma, you’ll often find small wineries tucked away on dirt roads, where the owner is not only tending the vineyard but also crafting the wine and welcoming guests in the tasting room. That’s the spirit I embody—a hands-on owner with humble resources but boundless determination to make it all work.”

Each Sonoma location reflects Farrah’s vision of creating spaces that are comfortable, elegant, and deeply connected to their communities—like the newly opened Garden Oaks location. Farrah believes in giving back, regularly supporting local schools and nonprofits in Houston and Katy, paying it forward as a heartfelt thank-you to the community that has supported her journey.

Sonoma Wine & Cheese: a dream built with passion, perseverance, and a commitment to creating more than just a wine bar—it’s an experience.
