Rob Rubba is the chef and founding partner of the sustainability focused  Oyster Oyster in Washington, DC. Rubba is the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Chef Award by the James Beard Foundation as well as the 2022 BNC Award from Food and Wine magazine. In 2024, since 2022 Oyster oyster  has held a Michelin star and received a green star from the Michelin guide for its sustainability efforts. His career spans over 20+ years, cooking in the best restaurants across the country under chefs like Gordon Ramsay, Guy Savoy, and Laurent Gras. Rubba has branched out on his own, focusing on sustainability. preparing a seasonal, local, plant-forward menus that expresses the Mid-Atlantic bounty through closed loops systems, zero waste, minimal low carbon footprint, and supporting regenerative farming.
